There is no love like a mother’s love for her children. And that was on full display during this awesome session at one of my new favorite locations: Fort Washington, MD. This is such a cool spot that somehow remains a hidden gem in this DMV area. As you might imagine, Ft. Washington is indeed a fort built about 200 years into the hillside along the Potomac River. This old brick building has spooky dark rooms, tall staircases, a bridge, canons, and amazing views over the river. You can follow the trails down to the waterfront and play along the shoreline. And if none of that interests you, it has ample grassy areas with beautiful trees, including cherry blossoms in the spring! I first took my kids there over spring break and I vowed to go back with some clients! I’m grateful I did because we had a wonderful session!
Stephanie and her twin girls are just the coolest. I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know them at youth soccer games since the girls have played on the same team as my daughter over the last few years. And one thing I love about Stephanie is that she played women’s tackle football. She helped me get in shape for my football season when I was first trying out for the DC Divas. She’s the ultimate badass mom and she loves her girls fiercely. I was thrilled to run around Ft. Washington with her awesome family photographing them in action!
I always make sure I capture individual photos of everyone during the session. Need a headshot but also want some updated family photos? Book a family session and get it all!
After we were finished wandering around the fort and the waterfront, we played around in the grass under the trees. And no session of mine is complete without some tree climbing!
For the last part of the session Stephanie and her girls changed outfits to show off their bold and colorful “Love is Love” PRIDE shirts! After all, this session occurred in June, which is PRIDE month. There was so much love and enthusiasm that we all needed to jump for joy – multiple times!!!
We all walked away from this session tired but happy and full of joy!
