I love Halloween so much. More than any other holiday, it’s just FUN! It may not have originated that way, but the way we do it in my family, it is sheer fun. The colors, the decorations, the costumes, the candy, the weather, the pumpkin patches, the imagination, the magic – SO FUN!!! It’s also a perfect time to get my kids to pose for photos. Normally they don’t like to do this, but when they are in their costumes, they are more than willing to get into character and show off a bit for the camera.
This year my girls discovered Disney’s Descendants. And they are 100% obsessed. We’ve been listening to the music, watching the movies, and discussing the dynamics of these villain kids and their relationships with their parents. Both of my girls dressed up as Mal (Maleficent’s daughter). My son is a Batman fanatic, and he had a blast in his costume too. I’m biased of course, but I think he’s the cutest Batman I’ve ever seen! With a smoke machine and simple black backdrop that I tossed over our swing set, we made some great images that capture the imaginative spirit of Halloween. And although my husband and I were not in our costumes during this session, we a little fun here too! Happy Halloween everyone! I hope it’s magical with lots of full size candy bars!
